May’s Workday Recap

May's workday was amazing! Having 11 extra pairs of hands makes a huge difference to how much we can accomplish on a workday, and it also means we can spend more time in conversations and hiking.

Thank you to everyone who showed up! Together we protected all of the trees planted in 2023 and 2024, we planted pawpaws, widened our main road, worked on our new gathering area and enjoyed a delicious lunch!

We also planted more ramps and wild ginger, and some of the youth learned how to use the mower and mowed most of the trails! We also had time to finalize the plan to restore the fen's hydrology, and a plan to maintain our trails and roads.

The willows planted from our first collaborative project with a volunteer are sprouting nicely and we are already looking forward to enjoying seeing them grow! Everything was green and lush, and we are always grateful for how much the land shares with us and to be able to share with others.

We will have 2 workdays in June, one on the 8th and one on the 15th - details to come soon!
